I believe this is the way.

Up till 2013, I was still neck deep in keeping a global seismic network humming 24/7.

Starting 2014, I started thinking about where humanity is going. How I can build my own Singapore.

I considered the failed Venus project in Florida. Even volunteering, but I was little use to their project manager.

I started thinking about my own civilization, my own city, and how to maximize resources, maximize reduction of waste. Naturally it ends at “mega city”.

It is not all that hard for me, because in 1990, I already fell in love with the anime Robotech. A mega city that can transform into a twin barrel mega shotgun.

Much of the optimization I did for the military were limited by my control over a small portion of the apparatus instead of the entire thing. The only way engineer can maximize the engineering output using total understanding of technology and science, is to start the entire civilization again. Even if the first shot is not perfect, the 2nd and 3rd will be great.

Every day, I can see the 1-2 hours California sit in the highway. Some sit on the highway 4 hours a day. That’s entropy at maximum inefficiency. Traditionally the US government have left the people to fend for themselves, so they are stuck with this lifestyle. unable to change the design of their life.

If a country engage in redesigning life, they can better preserve Human life, Human happiness, reduce waste, resuse and recycle.

Heat can be recycled. If we study the earth, we can copy a lot of mother nature’s forces.

If you make waste into fuel, being able to design the city from the beginning allow you to put these in place.

You can reduce the wasted human life sitting in traffics. You can have more productive activities vs waiting in traffic. vs burning fuels for no output etc.

This is the amazing result of engineering having political backing, and financial backing.

the 2trillion dollars data center, on the other hand, are marketing campaign with political backing and financial backing.

I bet my life the engineers will win this human race.
