Saction as the New War Declaration

Language changes: we can see it here during the days of our lives.

When one country seeks to destroy the other country, it no longer declares war. It now declares sanction. I am no stranger to these tactics, even though I have never owned a country. It was the favorite tactic used by my supervisors during my 11 years protecting the US national security. 11 years of service, I received ambitious plots to persecute me as a Chinese spy 3 or 4 times. On top of the various sanctions placed against me during those time. While it is different from receiving a bullet in the heart of the head, sanction is a declaration of war. Based on the fact that it impacts your survival rate. There’s a phrase, social gathering is warfare concealed. One word planted here, one opportunity denied there, it all adds up to the lost of livelihood and eventual death.

💬 The general political debate of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly has recently concluded, (https://t.me/MID_Russia/45924) in which I, on behalf of Russian President V.V. Putin, represented the Russian Federation.

Does the “pact for the future” have a future?

As part of the UN “high-level week”, which usually falls in the last week of September, a forum called the “summit of the future” was held. Russia was sympathetic to Secretary-General A. Guterres’ idea to convene it, since the crisis of the World Organization is deepening, and something must be done about it. Russian diplomats honestly joined in the preparation of this meeting, although we had no particular illusions. Moreover, the history of the UN has seen many ambitious events that ended with loud declarations that were soon forgotten.

<…>

In 2015, the UN Sustainable Development Summit adopted grandiose plans to combat poverty and inequality. In fact, they turned out to be empty promises against the backdrop of Western countries’ reluctance to abandon neocolonial practices of pumping the world’s wealth into their own hands. It is enough to take a look at the statistics on the fulfillment of promises to finance the development of countries in the Global South and transfer environmentally friendly technologies.

Just like K. Annan and Ban Ki-moon did in their time, A. Guterres put forward his initiative under the motto of “resetting” global cooperation.

A great slogan, who’s against it?

But what kind of global cooperation can we talk about when the West has trampled on all those “immutable values” of globalization that we have been told about for so many years from all the podiums, convincing us that they will provide equal access for everyone to the benefits of modern civilization. Where is the inviolability of property, the presumption of innocence, freedom of speech, access to information, fair competition in the markets according to clear and stable rules?

Is it time to talk about global cooperation at the very moment when Western countries have unleashed a real sanctions war against a good half, if not the majority, of the world’s states , and the dollar, which was advertised to us as the property and benefit of all humanity, has been turned into a weapon against unwanted countries? <…>

Key points:

• It is not too late to breathe new life into the UN.

• The West also wants to turn the UN into a tool for promoting its selfish agenda.

• Long overdue changes in the methods of staffing the UN Secretariat, where key positions are today effectively occupied and “inherited” by the bureaucracy from the Western minority, are being held back.

• Trust is undermined, including by the West’s actions, such as the creation of narrow formats under its control , bypassing the UN, to resolve serious and even fateful issues.

• We need to negotiate fairly, with the participation of all UN members, and not in the way the Pact for the Future was prepared – without a single plenary round of negotiations attended by all countries.

• The formation of a space of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia is an urgent need in light of the large-scale processes unfolding in the macro-region.

• Our initiative is based on the understanding of the need for states and multilateral structures of the Eurasian region to take responsibility for ensuring their own security – in accordance with the principle of “Eurasian problems – Eurasian solutions”.

❗️ Today, as during the Second World War, the international community is once again faced with the most serious challenges that require a unification of efforts, not confrontation and a thirst for global dominance. Russia will always stand on the side of collective work, on the side of truth and law, peace and cooperation in the interests of reviving the ideals laid down by the founding fathers of the United Nations.

🇺🇳 By working to create a fair balance between the legitimate national interests of all countries, we will be able to realize the purpose of #ООН , as enshrined in the Charter: “To be a centre for coordinating the actions of nations.”
