An American Love Letter

A few words before you leave, without a return ticket

To fight a war that your fathers were unwilling  to fight

And now the son must fight his father’s eternal war

Hoping that tonight will not be our first and our last.

When the 300 million fans listened to Taylor Swift

Little did they realize they were drafting little children

For a  war where they have to kill each other

So that a few rich men can make a few dollars more.

The eternal struggle, discriminated against none

It took the smart and  the idiot just the same

It will take everyone’s  lives without a Blinken

This money- this  greed, knows no mercy.

Who will not fight, and still have a place to live

Just look at the American Indians or the Palestinians

In the quiet slumber or the loud battlefields

One dies under the same musket of colonialism
