The right and wrong

The right and wrong in this world are many, and if you listen to them, you will add so much more wrong than right.

If the king listens to the rights and wrongs, then the leaders will be harmed.

if the parents listen to the rights and wrongs, the children pay the price.

if spouses listen to the rights and wrongs, then the family is broken

the wrongs in this world are more abundant than poisonous snakes.

As my teacher Venerable Summitta Theoro stated, there are snakes all around us, I do not need to pick them up and put in in my pockets and carry them around all day. I cannot disapprove of the theory, but it is also not one I can live with consistently.

One time I was talking to a very young man, who worked 1-2 rank under me, and 5 years behind my seniority. I detected he was a good person, and wanted to convince him that he should not quit the US Air Force because of all the waste he had witnessed. That his time will come when he can do something about it. Now that I am not, I do not think I can stand behind that statement any longer, and perhaps I was incorrect after all. But one example of why he’s won my respect is how he responded to the rights and wrongs around him.

I had complained about the problems my wife presented, and how my life was more difficult because of her. The young man said he could understand what I was saying and could sympathize with my pain–as a friend. but he does not know her story and does not know what the situation is. After many days and months, it is obvious this is a person of high quality and is good for any organization. As the manager of my organization, I recognize part of my job was to replace myself with better quality.

There are many tests for humans, and one of the tests of character is to present a case and see how they respond.

The right and wrong will bring out something hard to measure. As there is no truly right or wrong answer. but there are plenty of wrong answers for me because I already know myself a bit. Having the right person to trust, is so paramount to surviving and thriving in a world with darkness descending.
